Sporty & Rich's FW26 Equestrian Drop brings riding-club polish to off-duty dressing: the camel Darcy quilted jacket, the chocolate Diana wool varsity, the Jadene horse knit, the Gemma riding gilet and the Blondie rugby polo — all shoppable in the UK.

There's something about equestrian style that never really goes out of fashion. The quilted jackets, oversized knits, riding-inspired layers and beautifully impractical shades of cream. It's countryside dressing with a certain amount of polish.

And Sporty & Rich has clearly understood the assignment.

The brand's latest Equestrian Drop takes the familiar codes of riding-club style and gives them its signature off-duty treatment. Think chocolate brown, camel, oatmeal and cream, with horse motifs, varsity jackets, rugby stripes and plenty of pieces that look equally at home in the Cotswolds or on a coffee run through Chelsea.

No actual riding experience required.

The Country Club Aesthetic

Sporty & Rich has built its identity around making leisurewear feel aspirational. Tennis clubs, vintage sportswear and collegiate dressing have all featured heavily in its world.

Equestrian feels like a natural progression.

There's a nostalgic quality to the collection, particularly in the horse-and-rider graphics, traditional stripes and heritage-inspired outerwear. But the relaxed silhouettes stop everything feeling too formal.

It's a wardrobe for someone who appreciates the countryside aesthetic but still wants to wear trainers.

The Pieces Worth a Look

The Darcy Vendome Quilted Jacket

Possibly the most countryside-coded piece of the collection. Camel quilting, a contrasting brown corduroy collar and an equestrian print give it a distinctly heritage feel.

Wear it with leggings and trainers to bring it firmly into 2026. It's the sort of jacket that makes even the most ordinary outfit look considered.

The Diana Riding Club Wool Varsity Jacket

Chocolate and oatmeal is a combination we're very much behind this autumn.

The varsity silhouette makes this one feel a little more sporty, while the riding-club detailing gives it character. A proper statement layer, and one that would look particularly good thrown over a simple cream knit.

The Jadene Horse Knitted Boxy Sweater

A chocolate knit with a contrasting horse-and-rider motif.

Playful without feeling novelty, and exactly the sort of jumper that works with everything from tailored trousers to relaxed denim.

The boxy silhouette gives it that slightly undone quality Sporty & Rich does so well.

The Gemma Vendome Quilted Riding Vest

If there's one item that makes sense for unpredictable British autumn weather, it's a gilet.

This one comes in chocolate and a printed camel variation. Ideal for layering over knitwear, sweatshirts or a fitted long-sleeve top.

We're particularly drawn to the chocolate version. Understated, versatile and considerably more interesting than another black padded vest.

The Blondie Serif Logo Rugby Polo

Camel, chocolate and cream stripes with a contrasting white collar.

A little collegiate, a little country club and very wearable. We'd style it with loose trousers and a good pair of trainers.

Proof that you don't need a horse motif on everything to embrace the equestrian aesthetic.

Why We're Into It

What makes this collection interesting is how comfortably it sits between sportswear and everyday fashion.

Athleisure has moved well beyond the gym, and brands like Sporty & Rich understand that their customers aren't necessarily dressing for one particular activity. They're building wardrobes around a lifestyle.

The equestrian influence also feels particularly relevant for autumn. Rich browns, substantial knitwear and practical outer layers make far more sense in October than another collection of barely-there gym sets.

And while some of the pieces are clearly investment purchases, there's plenty of styling inspiration to take away without buying the entire collection.

A quilted jacket over leggings. A rugby shirt with tailored trousers. A heritage-inspired knit with your favourite trainers.

It's about borrowing elements of the aesthetic and making them work for your own wardrobe.

The Kit & Grit Verdict

We're particularly taken with the quilted outerwear, chocolate knits and riding-club graphics. It's a collection that feels considered, wearable and just a little bit indulgent.

Will any of it make us better horse riders? Unlikely.

Will it make the school run, Sunday coffee or a weekend in the countryside feel considerably more stylish? Quite possibly.

And frankly, that's enough for us.

Kit & Grit. Overthinking athleisure so you don't have to.
