Big nerves at the start, huge smiles at the finish. We’d built this race up for months and it delivered every emotion.
The sleds were always going to test us (and they absolutely did 😅), but we stuck together, kept pushing, and crossed the line in 1:36:33 🙌
So much love for my doubles partner G ❤️ laughs in training, grit on race day, and the best energy to do it all with.

2 weeks until Hyrox Birmingham 😮 No time to slack – me and my doubles partner have set some lofty goals 🙈so I’m showing up, sticking to the plan and trusting the process 🙌
This week looked like…
🔥 Mon – Leg day, always a favourite 🙌
⬆️ Tues – Upper & back
🛷 Wed – Sled pull, lunges and wall balls
🥞 Thurs – Gym but just for the pancakes 😆
🔥 Fri – Conditioning on ski, row, bike + tread. Always love this one: I lock in and zone out 👌

Think I’ve found a serious contender for the Varley Co-ord. Premium-quality feel without the scary price tag, @oysho might just be my new favourite brand.

First things first — they’re all good shorts, initial reaction was positive when I unpacked them. If you’re a casual runner, you could throw on any of these and have a great run.
But when you look at pockets + waistband comfort, some pairs stand out more than others.
👉 Pockets matter. Even on a short run, you want space for your phone + AirPods. I’ve done my fair share of retracing my steps after dropping a key 🤪🔑
👉 Waistbands matter. One pair (the white ones) dug in and created overhang — not what I was aiming for 😆 shame because they had a nice sized zip pocket. I’m not convinced sizing up would have changed the tight waistband.
The standout? The 4th pair 💙🎉
Supportive high waistband (if you prefer a bit of control around the stomach, these are a dream — I didn’t realise how much I’d like that until I tried them).
Lightweight + breathable fabric.
Side pocket big enough for your phone. Sadly no zip, but it’s deep enough to keep a key secure 🔑 That’s why it’s a 4 and not a 5/5
At £31, they’re the priciest of the bunch — but honestly the best value for money and I’m keeping them 🙌
The good to know…
1 - Khaki ✅ snug fit, nice waistband, but pocket only fits keys + AirPods. I really liked these but would size up to a 10 next time.
2 - Sky blue ❌ floaty tennis-skirt vibe, no phone pocket.
3 - White ❌ waistband too restrictive, dug in.
5 - Icy blue 🤍 bargain at £12, but zero tummy support.
⭐ 4 - Navy = the clear winner for me 🏅They also have them in loads of colours! 🎨

Tried to hunt down a Varley-style co-ord without the price tag… mission unsuccessful ❌
The listing photos looked so good. But in real life? Thin material, pyjama waistband, and a flimsy zip.
Colour’s lovely though, so thumbs up for that, and actually… they would make great pyjamas, or even a home lounge set, but it’s not ticking the athleisure box I was hoping for.
